Why Blogger doesn't smilie?

What the heck?! Why Blogger doesn't support smilies like Yahoo! at all? No wonder Google can't dominate in IM market because both MSN and Yahoo! do better on smilies. Don't think smilies is a trivial stuff. They give better communications. Even IS researchers are studying their effectiveness on human-computer interaction. Anyone, after some searches I locate a blog that teaches us how to add smilies supports to Blogger.
